First Version Much Much Better

The early "internet" version of Tropa de Elite is far superior to the commercial U.S. release and the Region 1 DVD. Having seen all three, what stands out most glaringly is part of the soundtrack. The first two songs of the movie really suck in the later versions. Same songs but different mixes. Also, some of the the dialog and subtitles are way different. Might not matter much if you've only seen the later versions, but it seems the first one feels more real/authentic. Not much is different by way of scenes though; they all look the same, no obvious re-editing. For those that haven't seen the first version, here's some links to three of the songs, in the order they appear. SPOILER ALERT!!! Some of these music videos have some footage of the film. Enjoy!

Yeah they also cut a few second scenes and reedited sound effects, which sucks, shots sound like they do in video games in late version, while in the early version, they sounded so fcking real, they recorded the them during shoout i guess...

also in a bag-torture scenes you dont hear the disturbing sounds of BOPE officers slapping victims/suspects/trainees

Especially the one where they were looking for the body of the scout kid,the one poured water in face after passing out,and gets slapped twice, well, that scene lost intensity a bit imo without those effects, not that i am sadistic person.
