each episode seems to be the same, still good though

it seems that each episode is the boys discover something to do, the platypus goes on a mission only to be caught by the doctor, the sister tries to get the boys caught in the act by their parents but always fails, the platypus escapes and stops the evil doctor, the boys' end their shenanigans and return to normal right when the sister gets their parents to see what they are doing, with the platypus showing up, then the silent one says something.

Here's what you don't get though.

The creators and the writers are well aware that they are using a formula. That is why in most episodes they twist the formula around in order to keep it fresh. Plus their are other episodes that don't use the formula at all.

The complaints about the formula only ever really started ever since Gravity Falls came out and overshadowed it because before then, the majority of those same said people that complain about it now went on about how "it was so great to finally have a good modern cartoon" and called it the new SpongeBob. Honestly, I think the majority of the complaints about the formula are mostly covering up the fact that they either don't like it because it's not like Gravity Falls (Which explains why most GF fans don't like PnF) or any of the other cartoons currently running, or the fact that they find GF so good that they're looking for a better explaination as to why they dumped Phineas and Ferb. I didn't even think twice about the formula before people started complaining about it. In 10 years when the show (If it does) gets cancelled, people will be nostalgic about it and going on about how great it was and how it shouldn't've been cancelled.

It's not even the first cartoon to be swept away because people consider the new cartoon to be better (Rugrats was swept when SpongeBob came out, for example and it took a whole decade for Rugrats to finally be appreciated in the public eye again long after the show was cancelled the second time).

No the complaints about the formula started ever since Season 2. So it has been around BEFORE GF was even announced

People have always complained about the formula since day one, but those complaints were in the minority at the time and it became so popular that I checked it out and I was blown away by the quality of the show but the show has seemed to get more ire from viewers and complaints about the formula since Gravity Falls came out, because that's when the complaints about the formula began to get more mainstream (Along with Benthelooney saying it was bad) to the point of where it's become an online trend to hate on Phineas and Ferb. As a hardcore fan, it makes me sad because this show really isn't as bad as it's haters make it out to be. I know we all have our opinions but people really overexaggerate it's formula, it's not the generic Perry defeats Doofenschmirtz, Candace tries to bust the boys plot in every episode (Well, that does happen in most episodes, but there's an actual plot going on. This show isn't Pokemon).
