isn't this show a bit copied from dexter's laboratory

i love the show its pretty clever ,,but it has a lot in common with dex
both have a genius son ,
a pet with a second life that even the geniuses dont know about
an annoying sister who is the only one in the family who knows that he is genius and no matter what happens parents never get to know about them/him

I never made that connection. Their dad sometimes gets in on what they are doing.

In some ways YES!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT They've got a platypus Dexter had a monkey

No, it's not a rip off of Dexter's Laboratory by any means. This show's concept was thought up in 1992, years before Dexter came out. It only didn't get picked up because network executives thought it was too complex for children.
