Four seasons REALLY?

This is why I hate Disney channel. They feel like NO show can go beyond four seasons and it's been like this for YEARS! Even when they were surprisingly willing to give this show 200+ episodes they couldn't help but not go beyond their normal season limit. "Hey, let's stretch the seasons out a couple of years! That way, the show can be given many episodes than we usually give our shows but still have four seasons!" A show that's been on for seven years should have seven seasons.

As for the episode amount, I see the show will have 222 episodes. Are these 222 actual WHOLE episodes or just segments that make up a whole episode? I had to doubt them being whole episodes since I find it surprising even Disney could allow an animated show to exceed 200 episodes. They didn't even do that with some of their previous popular shows.

Actually Disney wanted to keep it going but Dan and Swampy decided that they wanted to end it while the show was still popular and before it got stale.

I'm not bummed about Disney ending the show, I'm just asking why give it only four seasons over the course of SEVEN years? It seems like they can never have a show go beyond four seasons even if it's given 200+ episodes.

Honestly, I'm just as shocked as you are because I was beginning to wonder if this show was ever going to end or not! It's crazy because when you look back on all of the other old Disney Channel shows, Kim Possible and That's So Raven were the only one to last the longest and that was for 5 years because they were the first shows to break off the 65 episode limit rule they used to have.

You would at least think that Phineas and Ferb could at least ran up to 5 or 6 seasons at the most if it's running time on the show lasted up to 8 years.

I canunderstand a live action show on Disney only lasting ~4 years. The teen and pre-teen actors age out of the roles and since THEY are the strs of the show, not the adults, are hard to replace. You mentioned, That's so Raven. Well they sort of continued it with the spin-off Corey in the House.

The animated could go longer but it comes down to how long the producers/writers want to do it. Funny how they work so hard to get a show on the air but after a few years, it's like, OK done that, what are we going to do next.

I am going to miss P&F as I miss Kim Possible. They were good shows.

But we can see them age into adulthood. Plus as long as the show isn't named after a certain character a casting change can work if Disney doesn't want to showcase the original cast as adults and want to keep the focus on young children. But casting changes are easy to do and lots of shows have gone on well with them.

You mentioned, That's so Raven. Well they sort of continued it with the spin-off Corey in the House.

But not with the main trio of Raven, Chelsea, and Eddie, and TSR was the first show to reach 100 episodes.

The animated could go longer but it comes down to how long the producers/writers want to do it. Funny how they work so hard to get a show on the air but after a few years, it's like, OK done that, what are we going to do next.

That's why it makes sense they let their shows go on for more than four seasons. That way, they don't have to be making a new show every year and can just stick with the ones they have and go on a few years without making any new show. With the amount of shows they made over the last thirty years it's all a waste to me given their short runs, especially the shows that only ran 65 episodes.

That's how it needs to be. The show's been on for about eight years and yet Disney has it all squeezed into four seasons. Even when a show expands beyond four years, they can never break pass their four season rule. They broke though their 65 episode limit garbage a decade ago so by now they NEED to let shows expand to a fifth season and more.
