In the comics hes tall,young and athletic. Hes the heart and soul of the Avengers in the comics plus he's hard of hearing too. He was married to Mockingbird and dated Black Widow. Renner had no depth and was quite boring as Clint. Funny how Renner was desperate to keep playing Clint anf now hes replaced by Kate Bishop.
shareThe casting was fine for the way they wrote Hawkeye. And they did make a point of making Hawkeye the soul of the team later in the series.
But in the comics Hawkeye was more light-hearted and easy-going, not so serious. He was my favorite Avenger as a kid, but unrecognizable in the movies.
I like Renner but he was nothing like the Hawkeye I remember reading in the comics.
