Thor 2: Avengers Assemble
This is such a Thor Movie
shareHow so? He doesn't show up until 20 minutes into the movie and hardly ever talks to the other teammates. Even though Loki is the villain, the main heroes are Cap and Iron Man.
shareIn fact, the first several drafts of the script made this almost "Iron Man and his Amazing Friends" until Marvel put a stop to it and evened the playing field more.
shareFrom the first two Avengers movies, I always got the impression Joss Whedon really liked Iron Man and Hulk but didn't seem to know what to do with Thor.
shareAnd if you ever read Avengers comics growing up.....it's not a new problem
shareYeah, some Avengers writers like certain members over others. It's the nature of the beast.
sharePlus, Thor in the Avengers has the same problem we saw in that Justice League disaster.....once he's on board, why do you need Hawkeye or Black Widow or Cap? And why is Thor, a god with centuries of battle experience, taking orders from Cap?
shareI think a good Avengers/JLA movie will involve problems that each member can solve. Sure Thor or Hulk can take down the big threats but they need Hawkeye to shoot the MacGuffin out of the villain's hands while Black Widow sneaks onto the villain's base to find information for Stark to hack the computers. This is all accoridng to Cap's plan who has a better sense of Earth warfare than a guy who has lived in a magical realm his whole life and typically solves problems by himself.
shareAnd who wouldn't love a cinematic adaptation of JLA/Avengers?
shareIt's a total Iron Man movie from beginning to end.
