True enough. I hadn't thought about that attitude being a cover for his private life, but it would make sense.

Who's talking about the general Canadian populace? We're talking about law enforcement, which is as traditionally notorious as the military for its homophobia. If he's gay, it's a valid reason for the paranoia he's been showing throughout the series because it would be a career killer.
