Well, I can't really say that I hated this movie, But I thought the context was kinda stupid... That's it really, I usually like movies in this genre with more suspense to it. Like Mientras Duermes (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1437358/), The Skin I Live In (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1189073/), The first Saw movie (the rest of the franchise, not so much).
The brilliant thing with Saw was that it was so easy, The traps and all that crap came in Saw II and followed from there. I mean I enjoyed the other movies (except part II) But they was not nearly as good, To be honest i stopped watching after part III.
When it comes to the thrills in this movie I don't think it stands out from the usual horror movie, It pretty much never does in this genre. I mean, what more can you do with blood and gore? Maybe make it look a little bit more realistic just for shock factor but that's it I guess.
If you are gonna set up traps, atleast do it smart. If there is no other reason for the traps other than this psychotic mind of a killer gets a kick out of it, Well atleast explain why he does. I just want to know how the hell The Collector could place those traps that quick? Like in a few hours he changed the locks, hung up hundreds of small hooks in the ceiling and more... just, stupid.
