I must have missed something here but at what point did the collector set/lay the traps?

Arkin is seen walking round pretty much the whole house so they couldnt of been set previous to him getting there. Theres no way the collector brought several bear traps and everything in the space of maybe 20 minutes whilst arkin was breaking into the safe.

there were his helpers who masqueraded as exterminators (we seem them right before arkin leaves the house and arkin tells them about the wasp nest).
