Collectors eyes and noises...

First off I want to say that I actually liked this movie. Enjoyed the whole sick aspect of collecting people like insects. I was just wondering what was up with his eyes? In almost every scene his eyes are reflective grayish. I know they were trying to make him seem like a spider/predator but I didnt understand why his eyes would glow gray like that. And what was up with the squealing noises he made? I mean it didnt even sound human! Besides that and a few annoying extreme close ups in the begging and a few scenes that were way to dark, a great film!

i wouldnt put much meaning into his bright eyes or noises. just some stuff to creep us out.

The way I saw it was that the eyes were contacts to make his eyes look like a spider's.

I thought the noises were just part of the soundtrack. They got very annoying after a certain point. At first they were kinda eerie, but then it just started to seem like they were trying too hard.

The Titanic sinks, Bruce Willis is a ghost, and Henry is the killer.

hes a predator like the spider?

reply

Yes indeed, just a cheap way to be scary.
Too bad that random screaming noises = not scary.

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)

Yes. He is supposed to represent a spider. His traps is his web. His eyes, glow like a spiders. as for the noises? Id say they added that in to make him seem almost un-human and more predator-ish.. To creep us out kind of like how a spider creeps us out.

He's pretty much the spider-y form of horror's mongoloid archetype. Supposed to be about as human as Leatherface or Jason.

It's not over, everybody betrayed me! I'm fed up with this world!
