Let's pretend HBO greenlit abbreviated 8th and 9th seasons to coincide with how short the upcoming seasons of Game of Thrones will be. They want YOU to be the show runner. How would you "fix" the show? Who would you take away? Bring back? Introduce? What would you do to make True Blood as good as it was in its early years so that the show could end strong?
shareIt's an interesting question, but the truth is that True Blood couldn't be salvaged. It really went off the rails during Season 5 and just kept getting worse. The stuff about Lillith and the Vampire Bible was terrible. Warlow was a horrible idea. The abrupt deaths of Tara and all of the fairies.
The show is beyond salvageable. It would be easier to describe what they should NOT have done. lol. The only thing they got right was killing Bill off (they should have left him dead at the end of Season 5; Billith was the beginning of the trainwreck).
To start, I would say Sookie being married was a dream and it never happened... Eric and Pam's storyline would be wiped clean and started over... I would bring back Russell Edgington to terrorize everyone from beyond the grave because he was their best antagonist that they completely wasted in Season 5. Pretty much get rid of all the excess characters that were introduced from Season 5 and beyond and go back to the core group that made the first three seasons so great.
