season 8

Make season 8 i l love true blood it cant just end like that

HBO wanted a season 8 but Skarsgard was done with playing Eric ( he wanted out at the end of S6) and wanted to move on. The fans made it overwhelmingly clear that without Eric, they were done with TB. So they negotiated with Skarsgard to hive them what he could for a S7 and ended it there.

Plus other actors have movies on. Deborah Ann Woll is in Dare Devil. Jim Parrack has moved into producing movies.

The only way for True Blood to come back is a reboot, prequel, or as a cartoon.

Stephen Moyer very early in the show said he and other cast members were on contract for 7 seasons. So it was no surprise to me that it was going to end at S7.

Skarsgard had signed a 6 year contract unlike some of the others.,who HD signed 7 year contracts, Alex mentioned this in interviews several times as well as the fact that after 6 years he would be open to making guest appearances if the show was still running but that 6 years was enough. Thus it was that he balked at signing on for an additional year at the end of season 6. He had committed to The Diaryof a Teeenage Girl which would cut into the first 2 months of filming for TB and then he had to train for his Tarzan role and be on the Tarzan by May. Kristin Bauer Von Straten also mentions this contract issue with Skarsgard . She just wanted him to "sign it already " since their two characters were basically joined at the hip and the two of them had become best friends.Buckner brought it up as well in the commentary section of the DVD. for season 6. He said he didn't think that Alex liked it that " everything rode on him" as far as season 7 was concerned.

That is not true. In 2008 the series was signed for 7 season contract. No more, no less

They burned their bridges when they made Bill Compton suicidal and killed him off in the most grotesque way imaginable.
And let's not forget the nauseating day/ night Thanksgiving that Sookie and her full-bearded husband give attended by all of the surviving main characters and their new spouses or lovers. There was no coming back from that even if Skarsgard had wanted to continue.

reply

They made the decision there would be no season 8 at the end of season 6. That's why they Keller bill off,had that ridiculous Thangsgiving diner, had the forced wedding between Holt and Jessica and many other events that were sheer trevesty..

reply

That was stupid. I still didnt watch last episode because i refuse that kind of ending

reply

Cant make season 8 if they signed for 7 seasons

reply

I would have preferred if they ended it earlier. It really went downhill fast.

reply

I will agree the last season was pretty bad despite a few good moments and bill getting killed off was insulting. The first five seasons were the best.

reply

damn straight, i hated season 6 and season 7 was like watching another show entirely, just bullcrap.
