Wouldn't it be hilarious if...

...he accidentally mixed the two notes up in the end, giving her the *beep* you" and the "I left you these, Claire" to the FBI?

Also, am I the only one who taught they looked so funny in the nun masks when they saw the officer in the police car they were all looking at, and one of the guys masks looked so miserable?

Why didn't he react? Because they were both out numbering and out gunning him? My first thought was that he was a corrupt officer

reply

Not corrupt, just valued his life really.

They had guns, and serious ones, he had a handgun.

Outgunned, out numbered.
(my understanding)

He turned his head because the situation was obviously way above him. A Cop working a DETAIL facing numerous Men with huge guns... He just wants to clock out and go home to his family after getting $50 an hour to oversee a construction project. Not corrupt, just smart. In a terrible film that Cop would turn into Superman

Since corruption is rather endemic in police departments throughout the United States, including Boston, it's also possible that he was also a corrupt cop, as well as being smart enough not to respond when Doug and his gang of bandits surrounded him.

reply

That's not how it's played out. He looks at them and Vice Versa... Both are nervous. He turns his head in "I dont get paid to deal with this" type of manner. Nothing suggested he was corrupt. It suggested he was smart enough to not play Super Cop

reply

A cop can be smart and still be corrupt.

reply

I agree... But the scene did nothing to suggest that he was corrupt. The crew, nor the Cop are fully aware of the situation they're in. They stare at each other, the Cop eventually realizes it's way out of his league and turns his head. It's almost done humorously.
