Similarities

*****Spoiler Alert******

I just got done watching The Friends of Eddie Coyle and it appeared to me that The Town copied one of its scenes. In TFOEC, the bank manager is dropped off by the bay and told to walk and count to 100. He walks close to the water and when he gets near it, he takes off his blindfold, turns around and the car is no where in sight. Then I remembered seeing this in The Town, it even looked like the same spot. Since Aflck said TFOEC was one of the movies who influenced him.............

The Town was derivative of several movies. The scene where Doug and his men dropped Claire off at the beach, after she'd been blind-folded, and then forced her to walk to the water, until her feet were immersed, was derived from The Friends of Eddie Coyle.. The car chase across the bridge and through the North End was quite derivative of the car chase in The French Connection. Much of the rest of The Town was derivative of Heat.

Quite frankly, that's one thing that I really didn't like about The Town.

Yes, except Heat this certainly isn't. Mix in a bit of Shawshank Redemption (the meet up with me in paradise later, idea), which fails on every level to be a realistic possibility for her ever to.

Bloody silly roberies too.
