Fireplaces make no sense
How the heck does a house have three fireplaces at the same, exact spot on three different floors?
Not only that, but apparently the chimneys of every fireplace lead to the floor of the upper fireplace (so Steve can fall through each floor), and those floors are -extremely- weak (so Steve can fall..)
I mean, when you think about it logically, what house would have three fireplaces set this way? What a job to carry the firewood upstairs, what an unnecessary luxury on THREE floors (two floors would still be somewhat explainable), and the chimney is just one, long shaft that has floors so the smoke can't get through from any other but the uppermost (third floor) fireplace?
HUH?
Who designed these fireplaces? Each fireplace should have their OWN, separate chimney, otherwise it makes absolutely no sense. Think about it, and tell me if you disagree.
There's also no point in making a chimney anything other than 'straight up', except for a minor shape change - straight chimneys draw the best, so any other route would block the smoke and not draw it out.
Nothing about this 'Steve falls through two floors within the shared chimney of three fireplaces' makes ANY sense.
Maybe I am missing something, and someone can explain how this fireplace design makes sense.. I highly doubt it, knowing the history of heating systems and fireplaces, but it's possible, maybe.
Just thinking about it - why would anyone build three fireplaces PERFECTLY ALIGNED even _IF_ their chimneys separated at some point? Why not just build three fireplaces at different places so each can have a straight, simple chimney?
I mean, if the point is that the smoke goes up towards the other fireplace, and then has to CURVE to end up at its own place anyway, why not just build the fireplace slightly to the left, right or in any kind of different place?
What's the necessity for the 'aligned' fireplaces? It's nothing but trouble, they would HAVE to build 'curved' chimneys to go around the floors of the other fireplaces, which would just be too much unnecessary work and not as effective a chimney.
I am telling you, it makes NO SENSE!!
