Wasn't the PINK PANTHER a jewel that was on a ring?? I remember seeing this in the first movie (remake of course with Steve Martin). Now in the second we are to believe that the jewel has grown and become oval in shape?

I didn't think that the two Steve Martin films had anything to do with the other versions with Peter Sellers or any other actor.
shareYes the gem was definitely "re-cut." That always makes a stone a lot smaller, but in this case it's a lot bigger! The original was a round brilliant cut, about 1-2 inches across and way too large for a normal ring.
