Ive never seen the 1st movie. Is this movie like a human/CGI. I remember watching the cartoon as a kid, is the Pink Panther actually in this movie?

The Pink Panther is an animated character that appears in some cute sequences during the opening credits and also at the end. I didn't see the cartoons, but this is a live action movie. The "Pink Panther" is the name of a giant pink diamond that is featured largely in the story.
