Let people know it's a sequel.
Is if official the Pink Panther diamond will not be included in the film?

Well, in the original Pink Panther series, the first sequel (Inspector Clouseau with Alan Arkin dosen't count) didn't have the word Pink Panther in the title, the third film was called Return of the Pink Panther, and the diamond was included in the plot, after it, whether the diamond was involved or not, the movie's all had the word "Pink Panther" in the title, so, it's not all that weird
shareOh, but the Pink Panther diamond IS involved.
Hold Brillan!
My issue is with the "2" in the title. When I saw the last one, I figured they'd call the sequel "Pink Panther 2" and told myself I wouldn't mind, but technically it's Pink Panther 11, and they could have called it "The Pink Panther Comes Back" or "The Resurection of the Pink Panther" or something.

i get the impression from the trailer that the diamond was donated to a museum or something between the events of the '06 movie and this one...
i really dislike the "2" for the same reason Sylvester mentioned, but i guess this is the 2nd movie since the series rebooted, so it's not an awful concept... it would have been MILES better, though, if they'd gone with a better title - one similarto the Panther films from the 70s/80s... even "Pink Panther Deux" (which was one of the working titles) would have been better, IMO... it's amazing that such a small thing as changing "2" to "Deux" even makes that much of a difference (being that they mean the same thing), but for me, it does... "Deux" just feels more right, if you ask me...
but whatever...

That's because Steve Martin and crew would like to pretend that the Peter Sellers films never existed and that Martin's "reinvention" of the character is the only valid "Pink Panther" in existence. They've wiped the original films from canon and want their own pathetic humorless tripe to be associated with THE Pink Panther franchise. If people dare find out there's a REAL "Pink Panther 2" film out there called "A Shot in the Dark", they'd watch it INSTEAD and find its 10 times more exciting, funny, and creative than this formulaic crap. Then no one would bother watching Martin’s crapfest when it comes to DVD. And we can't have that, can we?
I agree completely.
I <3 Tokio Hotel
I also hate that they slapped a two on there. Be invintive!
shareI kept hoping the 2 was just a placer for the posters and other advertisements and that a better title would be revealed. I kept hoping this all the way until the title appeared in the opening credits of the movie. There are so many titles that would have better suited it, but at least the movie was better than its title.

becouse its part of the reboot series of 2006
thats why its called pink panther 2
After a certain point in the series, they just felt that the series was more about Inspector Clouseau than it ever was the titular Pink Panther - so they just called the movies Pink Panther whether or not the Pink Panther diamond was in the movie or not.
