Pink Panther 3

Will there be a third film?

I hope the rumors are proven false...a rumor is going around of a third film

I hate Martin's PP movies, but a third one may be possible, with a MUCH lower budget, such as: no name cast, aside from Steve Martin and Mortimer (not even Jean Reno or John Cleese). No travel (whole movie set in the US, with some brief scenes in "Paris" soundstages). And a script even more simplistic and childish than PP 2, since such a watered down product could be aimed (a word never better used)only at children.

named "Pink Panther the Third"

Nah, that would be too creative!

It would be titled:

"Pink Panther 3"

BANG! (That was the sound of the studio creative's head exploding after giving too much thought to this subject)

If this film takes 40-50 million then maybe, depends on worldwide gross too.

I don't think there will be a 3rd film since it underperformed at the box office. I thought that the 2nd film was better than the first, but I still feel that Steve Martin is no Peter Sellers who I still think was perfect in the role especially in the Return of the Pink Panther which happened to be one of my favorite ones.

reply

If they do, they need to seriously drop Steve Martin and get someone who at least resembles and acts like Peter Sellers a bit more (why not try Geoffrey Rush, you know, the guy from Life and Death of Peter Sellers)?

It still won't be as good as Peter Sellers' interpretation, obviously, but it would be a great improvement.

No.

I understand that Martin's next projects will be remakes of Chaplin's "Modern Times," William Wyler's "Ben Hur" and Cukor's "Wuthering Heights," with Martin, of course, in all the lead roles.

Remember, Martin has a lot of graves to piss on before he's through. So far, it's only been Tracy, Sellers, Silvers, and Webb. There are so many geniuses left for him to trash.

Very true. There are a lot of classics to rape by Martin. It definitely seems like it is a hobby of his and he is full of malice of classic films. I think it's 'mission accomplished' for his raping of the Seller's Inspector Clouseau role. I think the next classic wants to tarnish is Citizen Kane. He probably was watching Big Mamma's House and Norbit and you just know he's looking for a fat suit vehicle to be in, Citizen Kane. Yeah I can see Martin wanting to make Chapin's little tramp character his own, like he said about the Clouseau character. So probably Modern Times is a possiblity, this time with computers, the web and blackberry/iphones, so he'd claim he was justified in his raping.

Again it's important that his film flop so bad that they won't get backing and the damage he does is limited. That is a good first step. He'd probably use his own money to rape a good film, but eventually he'd run out of cash.

That will never happen.
