Michael

I actually felt sorry for Michael when he showed up at Jack's house drunk! He needed to talk to a good friend because the woman he loved left him. From his actions and behavior, I think that he does love Julia and was really hurting from the rejection. When Jack & Julia were together--it made me sad for him--but just for a moment! Michael obviously values Jack more then he let's on. Too bad he's choosing to do such a horrible thing to humanity when he has the power to do good!

Has anyone else noticed that the actor who plays Michael is only 31 years old (according to IMDB)? Perhaps it will turn out he is not really Caroline's father.

Caroline is 16, so that means Michael was a father at 15 if my calculations are correct! It's possible, but unlikely. From his appearance, he looks to be in his late 30's. Michael & Jack went to highschool together, so that makes Jack around the same age and he doesn't look it.

Micheal looks more like Caroline's older brother than he does her father. I "think" the choosing of this actor is about "eyecandy" appeal, NOT realism. Another way to go (more realistically) would have been to make the "Caroline" character "younger" approx. 8yrs old--old enough to remember her mother and details of the accident while also being believable as Michael's daughter.

Yeah, DMReach, I've always thought that making Michael have a teenage daughter wasn't realistic for the actor they picked.

Even if he is actually in his 40's, the actor who plays Michael Krieger looks very, very young. Too young to have a daughter that age. It's almost creepy when he hugs her. She should've been his younger half sister or something.

Yes Jane, there have been occasions when it's been "uncomfortable" watching the two of them embrace. Tonight when he walked in with the sunglasses and bandage on his forehead was one.

oh please, Michael is a stupid bully with a heart of stone which is why he has no friends. After what he did to Jack he had the nerve to show up at his doorstep drunk? I would I have slapped him and sent him on his way, good riddance!
That scene was funny to me, I didn't pity him at all.

Katie: Michael is a monster. And you would know this if you started watching from the very beginning. It's hard to know what is actually going on in a story if you start watching towards the end. If you truly knew what Michael has done and is capable of doing, you would not feel sorry for him!
He uses and abuses both men and women--and has committed murder more than once. He wants to infect the world with a deadly virus that kills!

i already sent this but it didn't go through. Anyways, Michael and Jack are not best friends or friends at all. The ONLY reasons Jack even works for Michael are because a) Michael black mailed Jack and b) Jack wants to get evidence against Michael to bring him down. As for Michael's hallucinations they are not because he's feeling remorseful it's because of the medusa virus that he has. They stated that in one of the episodes that it causes hallucinations.

Cuz he thinks he's going crazy and he is. it has nothing to do with remorse for his wife, because he actually thinks he's being haunted by Sasha not his wife.

Katie, for whatever reason you are determined to see the good in Michael, and that makes you human and compassionate.

However, it does not follow that the other characters are the cause of Micheal's problems.

Please do not, as many juries do in this country, over-humanize the bad guy and demonize the victim.

Michael is a human being with free will and he has chosen this path. If he lacked self control due to mental illness, his daughter would've seen more of his evil ways by now. So, he has the ability to control his actions.

The fact that you keep trying to justify Michael's actions and see the bad in the other characters makes me wonder about the role models in your life.

Maybe you should ask yourself if Michael reminds you of someone who has hurt you but whose actions you had to rationalize to get along with them (parent, step parent, boyfriend)?

I don't think Anne Frank would've blamed the Jews for Hitler's behavior.

(So not a sentence I thought I'd ever right in this forum.)
