Pet Sematary (1989) vs Pet Sematary (2019)

Which one do you prefer? I just finished watching the 2019 remake and it kicked ass of the original. It started nothing special, but the ending was really good. It was a good and shocking twist to kill the older sister, she gave much more credible performance in the end than the little kid in the original movie. Mary Lambert's directing in the original film sucked, horribly overacted and overly sweet family idyl before events took turn to dark. Cast in the remake was better. The only part of the 1989 film I liked was the Ramones song and even that was included in this remake, altough as a cover version. Sweet. Shocking to see this film rated only 5.7 I think this one is one rare instance of succesful remake in the era of endless remakes that are inferior to the originals. I was pleasantly surprised.
