Never been on a bike? Never left Fairville?

Pee-Wee doesn't wonder what life is like outside of Fairville, claims to not know/care what is beyond Fairville, then when he's about to get on the motorcycle he says "I have kind of limited experience on a motorcycle." Why does this movie make it seem as if the events of Big Adventure never happened? Those were both opportunities for to tie into the old film mentioning that he's traveled before, and would prefer not to becuase of everything that happened to him last time he had an "adventure", and the motorcycle cycle comment could have been him laughing and saying "I used to have a bike! Ha ha!" Instead of him being scared.
It's just out of place that they don't make reference to those events, but then he sees the snake sign and says "I hate snakes."

There were no references to Big Adventure in Big Top Pee-wee either. It seems to me that he intentionally starts with a clean slate with every successive movie and show, no continuity between them.

Actually when Pee Wee says he has limited experience on a motorcycle, that is a DIRECT reference to Big Adventure.

Paul Reubens mentioned that in an interview recently. He said that the line was originally "I've never been on a motorcycle." And when they were on set, one of the crew members said that Pee Wee crashing the motorcycle into the billboard was their favorite part of Big Adventure so Paul changed to line to "limited experience" in order to make a reference to how poor of a motorcycle driver Pee Wee was in the original film.

Keep in mind that it's entirely possible that Pee Wee suffered trauma to the brain....after enduring the accident that led to him having a metal plate put in his head.

^this is what I figured, he could just not remember the other things due toe his brain damage.
