I think he is funny in some of the films I have seen in him.
But not buying him as a father, his scenes with Amanda Breslin seem more like a guy stuck babysitting a kid he doesn't really know than her father.

shareRyan Reynolds is a great actor, but was probably the wrong choice to play her father. He looked too young. He seemed more like he was her much older brother telling a story of how their parents had met.
In my opinion, he also looked younger than Emily and Summer. Him and April looked the same age, so that was believable. Actually in real life, Ryan was born in 1976, and so is Isla Fisher, so they are the same age. Rachel Weisz was born in 1970, so she is 6 years older than Ryan. And Elizabeth Banks was born in 1974, so she is 2 years older than him. Everyone looked their age I guess.
