Borrows from other movies

Lets see - you have the line lifted from when Harry met Sally " the first person I want to see when I wake up in the morning and the last person I want to kiss goodnight", the used book collecting hunting gimmick from Serendipity, the friend who realizes they are in love (Harry met Sally again).... any that I missed? I know I was making a mental list while watching it on TV.

Not a great film, but watchable. Isla was by far the best thing in this film.

It uses the Princess Bride's frame narrative with a parental figure telling a story to a slightly annoying kid who keeps interrupting it.

It copies off of "All the President's Men" because it mentions the president and you see him in the movie, he did something scandalous, it has a reporter in it (Summer), the similarities are unbelievable. Please..

reply

There's a girl called Summer so it ripped off (500) Days of Summer.

reply

thats just a silly remark. thats life saying there is a girl name April so i ripped of life of april or the fact that it is a love story means that it ripped off every other love story. make your contribution worth reading

reply

Every single movie ever made rips off other movies.

you realise that ipokebadgers was mocking the OP right?

reply

I know it four years later and you might not see this, but I am pretty sure that comment was just sarcasm poking fun at the fact that all movies get ideas and inspiration from other films.

You took the comment too literally. It was intended to be ridiculous.

reply

And they don't end up together either.

Bam.
