April's anger was unjustified. ***Spoiler***

He gives her the book her dead dad had inscribed to her and had been searching for since she was a girl. I can see her being upset that he had it for so long before finally giving to her but that doesn't totally negate the fact that he had managed to find it and give it to her. That trumps anything negative in this scenario.

He's taking the knife out of the Cheese!
Do you think he wants some cheese?

She was very emotional at that moment and reacted without really thinking straight.

I thought it was justified that she would be upset...

Obviously, she was happy that he gave it to her and she even thanked him. But then when he said he had it for 8-9 years?? She has been looking for it ever since her dad died and probably wasted so much time trying to find it afterwards when Will had it the whole time. His reasoning at the end was sweet, but he still shouldn't have held it for THAT long.

I was curious about him saying he had it for 8 years...unless I misinterpreted the series of events, didn't he have the book before he got back with Sarah/Emily? If so the timeline doesn't match given that Maya is supposed to be 10/11.

reply

I agree.

But even before that....why did he even tell her. Just give it to her and end it there.

It still made no sense to me that he kept it. I didn't get that at all.
