Screenwriting 101. You don't kill off your best character and the only one with motivation. And replace him with an boring uninteresting waste of space. And you don't make a Godzilla movie and only have 5 minutes of Godzilla. I guess ill have to wait for Pacific Rim 2.

Another reason is that it is a really terrible movie.

The original Godzilla had him in the movie for about 15 minutes. This movie was the same.

Watch more Godzilla.

At least the original movie didn't cut away every time godzilla came on screen.
