Wife's statement at end- *spoilers*
I really liked this movie- it was original, suspenseful, kept me guessing. I liked the pacing- pretty slow, but I thought it lent the right atmosphere for the movie. I was definitely engaged the whole movie. I liked the ending- even up to the end I wasn't sure if he was fighting to come out of the coma or trying to die. My one real question is that of his wife: when she told him she was going to keep him alive all her days, I took that as her love for him and the hope that he might wake up, misguided as it might be. On that level, I took his attempt at getting up and jumping as love for her, not wanting her to spend her life taking care of him. However, after reading some of the other posts, some people take her statement as kind of horrific- she's not following his wishes from the living will, she's using him to give her some purpose in life, etc. and then his jumping as an attempt to escape the hell he's in, since no one else will end it for him. Anyone else want to weigh in?
