Did Max Brooks enjoy it?

Anyone know if World War Z author Max Brooks enjoyed the movie adaptation of it? I did enjoy the movie, but it of course has nothing to do with the book except for the title.

He said in an interview he was expecting to hate it at first. Once he watched it, it was so different from his book he felt "he was watching somebody else's zombie movie" and enjoyed it for what it is.

"Adaptation?" That's a stretch. Pitt bought the novel and only used a portion of the title. That's the adaptation. Like buy a banana for half the peel. I read also Brooks was compensated $1M for the rights to his novel. Just guessing he is not a happy camper. The film grossed ~500M and is surely still raking in cash as we breathe.

He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.

That's not enough for the rights to make a movie loosely based on a book? Jeez, not easy to please, are you?

He enjoyed the paycheck he got from the movie! I can't fault him for that.
