The best Sci-fi movie ever?

This has to be the best sci-fi ever.

reply

I ranked Empire Strikes Back above this so if you count that one then it’s the second best.

motion allowed...

Can't hold a candle to 2001.

reply

2001 was good in the 60's but today its just laughable and the premise is stupid.

reply

I've been wanting to watch this for years. I finally got a chance to watch it a week or so ago, and I don't know, it just wasn't grabbing me. I think I watched about 20 minutes to a half hour and I just was like, nah, not for me. And I really like science fiction movies too. Maybe I'll try again eventually.

reply

It is a pretty deep movie I have to admit. Did you get to the worm hole scene? Thats when it starts to get intriguing.

reply

I got 26 minutes in to the part where that dumb square machine looking robot thingy was talking shit to Matthew McConaughey's character and Anne Hathaway's character is introduced. I was just like yeah, I'm done, this isn't for me. Like I said maybe I'll give it another shot sometime.

reply

No worries. The story starts to pick up after that. If you like sci-fi then you will hopefully like the rest of the movie. Kip Thorne was involved in the movie so it has some credibility. And the score is phenomenal. I have a 7.1 surround so I get spoiled when it comes to movies these days.

reply

What didn’t you understand about it?

reply

I never said one single syllable about not understanding anything so I don't know, maybe you meant to reply to some other person. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

reply

Nope I’m replying to you. Please tell me what you didn’t understand and I’ll be happy to explain it.

If not that then I suggest sticking with mindless garbage like Armageddon, that’s probably a lot closer to your intelligence level.

This has to be the most unintentionally funny topic ever.

reply

this didnt age well.

reply

It’s definitely up there, if it’s not the best Sci-fi movie ever it’s at least in the top 2.

reply

Whats your top 1? I think the genre has gone dead.

reply

Probably Star Wars Episode V The Empire Strikes Back

reply

I think a lot of Star Wars and Star Trek fans would disagree with you.

reply

This movie is too highbrow for those fans so they will never see it.

LMAO!!! Thanks for the laugh! I needed that!

reply

One hell of a movie. Free on Prime right now, for what it’s worth.

reply

Tell me you know nothing about science fiction without saying you know nothing about science fiction...

reply

Its one of the best sci-fi movies ever. Its even better on 4k with a 7.1 surround sound system.
