Should Arnold have played Corin?

Anyone else remember that William Smith (B-movie badass from the 60s and 70s) played Conan's father in the Arnold version and sort of passed the badass crown on to the next generation? When they announced this movie, I was hoping that Arnold would get cast as Conan's father and sort of symbolically pass the badass crown to the next actor to play Conan. Don't get me wrong, liked Ron Perleman (sort of the the go to guy for these sword and sorcery/medieval supporting roles lately), but wouldn't it have been cool to see Big Arnold as Conan's father this time around?

This film was trying to distance itself from the 1982 film and establish itself as a new entity (apart from elements like the doomed home village and steel metaphor). Same reason Sven Ole-Thorsen wasn't in it, even though he was in the two previous Conan films, Red Sonja and Kull the Conqueror.

If Arnold does return to the Conan franchise, then it really should only be in a film that's directly linked to the '80s films, like Milius' planned King Conan dualogy: I'd rather that didn't happen, but plenty of people still want a conclusion to that story. Anything else should be a fresh start.

No, it would have been as cheesy as the Pink Sunglasses gag in Terminator 3.

I'd much rather have had William Smith himself playing Conan's father.

I don't think Arnold should've been in it, but James Earl Jones should've done the narration.

Anyone would have been better for the narration than Morgan Freeman, who was simply godawful.
