What a turd

Yeah i did see the original films as a kid and liked them, later on i got into the Robert E howard books and became a fan. They made me realise that the conan films with Arnie were...very lacking. He wasn't Conan. He didnt have that sort of savage charisma. He just looked like a big beefed up dork.

Now we get this. Jason Momoa looks like a model more comfortable with sipping margaritas on the beach with babes then slashing guts. His acting is horrible, he's mugging and making evil eyes all the time. Same as the actor that plays him as a child actually. I wish they'd done away with all the young conan set up. ITs NEVER good to have teen actors as warriors in films. Especially not if theyre expected to be badass. It's only good for a laugh. To be fair, yeah Momoa is miscast, but nobody could have done anything with this script. Still, they could at least have had someone who looked the part and looked dangerous. In fact everybody in this is just embarassing themselves. Its like every single scene keeps topping itself, at some point i didnt know if i wanted to stop watching it cause it was just bad, or because i felt ashamed for everyone in it.

Nobody has done right by Howard so far in movies but i watched Solomon Kane recently and while it wasnt a masterpiece or anything, it's still ten times the film Conan The Barbarian is. And I dont even think it got a theater release here. Go figure.
