This film has obvious gay tendencies. The attitude in the doctor/prison sketch and the naked-neighbors-get-together sketch is obviously a gay man's belief system. The doctor winds up in jail where all men are gay. The neighbors sketch believes that all men secretly want to have naked parties with other men.
The writer(s) believe that all men are gay but men don't admit it. I guess if you are gay, you can't imagine any man not being gay.
Too much, too soon, too long, too strong, too many, to fix.
Most gay humor centers around a straight guy doing or saying something that could be misinterpreted as looking gay. The difference here is that these are jokes for gays by gays.
Too much, too soon, too long, too strong, too many, to fix.
I'm pretty sure David Wain, the writer/director of this film, is not gay, but even if he is, who cares? I watched the movie, I laughed, I did not turn gay.
Prisoner do that to punish certain prisoners. A lot of them believe that if you're not in prison for killing another man, you don't belong there, and they want you to be as miserable as possible. They hate rapists, child murderers, child rapists, usually stuff like that. They're the main ones that get raped. Jeffrey Dahmer got gang raped to death when he was put in the general population. In the doctor's case, he murdered a woman just for the LOLs. You better believe that he would be raped in prison. He would also be missing teeth since they tend to break their teeth out so they can't try and bite their dicks off when they force oral sex on them.
Yeah, there are some prisoners that don't do it for that reason, but they're few and far between.
................ "Fine. You want to eat? Let's see if you can eat... PIZZA!!!"
Actually, you've boiled it down so much that the points aren't even valid anymore. Not all the men in the prison were gay. (And truthfully, when you're discussing prison rape scenarios, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with sexuality.) And, I know this is a stretch to believe, but men can be naked around one another and not be gay. Of course this movie took it to the furthest level, but it took EVERYTHING to the furthest level. There's a thing called nudism, and the characters even mentioned a couple times that it had nothing to do with sex.
So, I am a gay man, and I CAN imagine men not being gay. That's just a ridiculous thing to say. And try not to generalize and tell gays what our "belief system" is.
Also, it was a weird comedy. It confuses me that you take umbrage to any sort of gay subtext, yet you're okay with a chick banging a puppet and later singing about splinters between her thighs. Or the on-again, off-again sexual indiscretions between the main characters.
It makes me wonder how much of a fit you'd have thrown if it was all females doing those things. A bunch of guys hanging out naked? GAY. A bunch of chicks hanging out naked? HAWT!!! DO IT!
RE: the OP: Oh, dear lord.... That aside, I just watched this movie and it did, indeed, turn me gay. I also want to leave a scissors in a women's abdominal cavity, but that's just a way to become gay...
