Ok, a question (SPOILERS obviously, for both 1997 and 2007)

In the scene where Paul is chasing Georgie through the neighbors' house, he puts on that loud, unnerving song on the CD player. But, in both versions, Paul walked into the house pretty much empty handed. Where did the CD come from? It's unlikely he'd have it in his pocket (with or without the CD case) because, face it, CDs break very easily. I know he could have just left it at the scene of the crime from the previous family massacre, but it's unlikely he'd leave it there if he was ever to go back to get it later, because, by then, if something happened down the line where the police were at the house investigating the place for some reason (noise complaint, or maybe the family was reported missing), the CD itself would be taken as evidence.

Any thoughts?

They had already been staying at that house torturing the people that lived there, no reason why they couldn't already have cd's in the home...

It was the cd from the start of the film. It belonged to the couple and was likely taken from their car.

In a film where characters can control the "reality" with a remote control, having a CD materialize from thin air is a piece of cake... Or perhaps the previous family were just fans of Naked City.
