Were they escaped mental patients, a rich spoiled kid who lived in the area who snapped and killed everyone within a miles distance, their back story interested me the most. I would like to see an alternate ending where the friends show up, call police and there is a stand off with bloody results and one kid ending up in a psych ward, it would be cool if entering the Doctors were like "Welcome back Jerry" haha.

They are suppose to represent the powers that be in the movie making business who take control, like the rewind scene or when he talks into the camera tells us they will do whatever they please, even killing off the whole main cast.

Well, obviously the two guys and their motivations were supposed to remain a mystery. That's why nothing is revealed about it in the movie. But I can easily imagine some cheap B-movie sequel or prequel, that shows one of the boys in a mental hospital and another having an abuse mother, etc. However, that would add nothing to the original Funny Games.
shareA backstory would really take away from the mystique and creepiness of these characters.
