I'm not against remaking this film, but there were already a lot of plausibility problems that can be passed off as cultural differences in the original film. There are not many Americans who are willing to sit and believe a family would let two teens into their house like that.

I've always felt it was pretty self-indulgent to essentially reshoot the same film with different actors and in a different language 10 years later, but I guess if someone gives him the money ...? I'm really not surprised it wasn't a commercial success. But it is interesting comparing and contrasting dual versions of the same product.🐭
