Okay, Im going to admit I didn't read 100% of the posts here (duh). But I scanned through and didn't see anyone else mention the fact that Paul was calling Peter at least two different names. Sometimes he said Peter and sometimes it was Tom.
Why!!!!
Tom and Jerry. They're nicknames and a part of the game being played.
Paul: "Okay Tom..."
Peter: "Okay Jerry..."
It's likely Paul/Peter aren't their real names either. Maybe they like the unassuming nature of being named after two saints despite being killers.
