Do you think they would have left if he gave them the eggs?
If the husband would have given them the eggs instead of slapping Paul, do you think they would have left?

shareGood question!
No, I don't.
I think the eggs was there opener, but if she hadn't had eggs or said no, he'd probably have had a million other questions/demands/tricks up his sleeve.

Yes, I think all they really wanted was the eggs, but the clumsy guy kept breaking them accidentally. When they realised they weren't going to get any eggs, they became understandably enraged. I would've done the same thing they did, 'cos I really like eggs too, and if I don't get them I just go crazy.
.
Lol
shareWasn't the dog dead by that point?
So, no.
Are you joking?!!
Did you watch the film? They didn't want eggs.

Well, in addition to the points made by others in this thread, the boys just left the neighbor's house full of bodies. So they were ready to move to the next house and continue the slaughter.
My concern is that the boys are "over fishing the pond." In other words, if they kill a house full of people and then go down the street and then spend twelve hours torturing and killing another family and then do it again and again, it won't be long before someone finds a body in one of the unlocked houses and triggers a massive manhunt. The party's over.
It's kind of better to kill a family and then go a hundred miles away before you repeat it.

"over fishing the pond."
It's a vacation area and a weekend trip. The boys are counting on not much happening until Monday.
no. the movie works on a meta-level. the storyline actually is rather irrelevant. it is about YOUR reaction towards the violence.
