Reason why the victims didn't "fight back" or gain the upper hand....

Is because this is not a revenge horror film. It is simply a psychotic horror. If you want your victims to fight back..watch a revenge horror like "the house at the end of the street" or "I spit on your grave". Any true horror fan knows this. And yes..this was a horror film. Quit whining..Horror is Horror.

You try being in that situation! They fought as much as they could before they were beaten - think about the situation at the Tate/Polanski house on August 9, 1969. They fought as best as they could, but were overpowered.

Lol this, horror....sure...sure...

I mean, to people who don't understand why they didn't "fight back." Does that family even remotely seem like the types who would put up some huge fight? No. They seem like the type that would politely ask you to leave repeatedly and then call police (which they should've done early on)

Some people are aggressors/agitators, some people have no problem with confrontation. You can easily surmise that most of their whole community lean more towards the pacifist-community side. The prey was blind sided by the predator.

I loved this movie and the way it was shot, although a few shots were too long and drawn out.

People hate what's popular and people jump on bandwagons. The rest of us are in the middle. Done.

This wasn't a horror film, it was a crime/drama/thriller.

How are people supposed to do that without knowing the outcome already?
