Is the original version so much better that this one?
I mean I know it's the same movie the same scene and the same screenplay but is the atmosphere and the acting so much better in the original one?

shareNo I would say the U.S. version is better. The acting is much better, in my opinion, especially Naomi Watts & Michael Pitt. The director is the same for both films.
shareI agree that Pitt and Watts were stellar!

I haven't seen the original one, so i cannot comment for that. Perhaps the original's acting is better. But to say that the actors in the remake showed zero emotion. nah. I honestly went into this movie not expecting much and was blown away by the performances.
I can't say really if this movie sits well with me though. The Directing is top notch, and the themes I see being talked about online are interesting enough, but the feeling of... dread after completing the movie is a bit unnerving. I will admit that was one of the more intense movies I've seen in a long time.

what do you mean? so much more depressing? probably yes.
shareThey were very similar. The sub-titles were arguably the main element of differentiation.🐭
shareThe invaders are certainly creepier in the remake. Slicker, more upscale-looking and eerily effeminate while in the German version they appeared more like regular blokes.
