Reflection/Perspectiv e
I noticed a lot of shots framed by reflections - in mirrors, spoons, windows, even an 8 ball. Is this a trademark of the director or do we think it meant something in the context of the film?

shareI haven't seen this film but in his previous one there was a lot of use of reflections. Not so much in his earlier films but they the setting didn't really allow for it. I think this director likes adding visual details and artistic design (once again haven't seen this so I dunno about it in particular, but his previous films were all good).
~ Observe, and act with clarity. ~
In the DVD extras, the director mentions how one of the old houses they filmed in actually had a concave mirror which gave a reflection of the entire room and he felt inspired by it and that's why he decided to integrate that visual leitmotiv. I quite liked it, it was at time artsy, and at other times comical, which typifies the entire production.
***So I've seen 4 movies/wk in theatre for a 1/4 century, call me crazy?**
