I disliked Brian at first (SPOILERS)

***SPOILERS***ENDING GIVEN AWAY***SPOILERS***

At first his utter lack of sensitivity toward the dad pissed me off. But the things he told his brother when they had the argument was true. The brother was may have been superior intellectually, but he was a moral weakling. In the end, I found it a shame that Brian died and the emasculated brother survived. What is he going to do with that girl now? Brian would've slapped her to submission and piledriven her and soon repopulated the world with (admittedly) arrogant, virile alpha males. The brother was already being bossed around like a little sensitive '90s man before they even got to the beach.

Poor girl. I guess in a situation like that, she'd do him no matter what. Eventually their biological impulses would make them attracted to teach other no matter what. Unless she was lucky and found a real man who knew how to put her in her place before she wasted her genes on the weakling brother.
