this movie was terrible

horrible acting, cheesy dialogue, stereotypical characters that somehow survive the apocalypse despite looking and acting like they're in a frat house. this movie did not make me laugh once, or make me jump/feel surprised. i rolled my eyes about every 5 minutes groaning "god this is so boring." this seems in many parts like a bad american ripoff of 28 days later/every other zombie movie. the characters are impossible to sympathize with because they're all so stupid. this movie has no message whatsoever. if this "outbreak" did happen and was as contageous as they say in the film, the entire planet would be infected within a week at the MOST (it's airborn and spreads by touching the same things the infected people touch) - yet the main characters enjoy removing their face masks and gloves frequently while entering infected areas because they were obviously only cast in the film for the way they look - - which isn't even attractive. the women are all stupid and constantly put themselves at risk for infection because they want to help the dying people. the main male character is the biggest douche i've seen in any film in years. not because he's an *beep* in the film, which he is, but because he acts like he was pulled straight from mtv's bromance. total douche.

waste of time, seriously don't bother.

I honestly think you went into the movie wanting to be disappointed. This movie wasn't a "zombie" movie. It's a drama, and I honestly think out of all the zombie type movies, this one was the most realistic. And how does this movie not have a message? The message was how humans react in crisis and how a lot of the times we should be more afraid of ourselves rather than the so called "zombies." It's really not that hard to understand.

I agreed with most of what you said, it wasn't my cup of tea, I preferred 'The Road'.

Its impossible that this piece of crap could be anyone's cup of tea. The writers just thought "hey how would people get fuel if some virus *beep* happens" and they set out to write a movie around that idea and steal from other movies as they went along.

I saw this movie because of Chris Pine. Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.

I'm really happy this failed at the box office and I wish the filmmakers careers end with this movie. No one wants to see anything more from these hacks.

Yeah you're right. But we owe it to the unsuspecting and innocent movie lovers who're out there and may bump into it.

I thought it was no good too, but ah well, I'll cope. Must be getting old.

I thought the movie was pretty good, although I hear not everyone likes good movies. The fact of the matter was Chris Meloni was tremendous in this one and the scene where he carries his daughter away as they drive off, he asks her to sing the song he likes it IS emotionally MOVING. Anyone who disagrees can go choke on 2 bags of Cox.

Movies I've seen, updated as I remember or find them.

I started trimming my fingernails at about the 50 minute mark. Was a pretty bad movie. The script failed poorly. 3/10...

Just watching this film and personally I thought it was awesome. I feel the comparisons to 28 days later are kind of unfair, I believe this movie shared more similarities to the crazies and road more than anything else, but I can understand where the comparisons are coming from. It certainly shares similarities with 28 days later, because it is a bit formulaic, it goes places many other films in this genre and others have already gone. With that said, I think it handles these elements very well and paints a bleak and, dare I say, realistic view of the end of the world. Therefore, most of the film consists of dialogue and sad scenes, not action or scares. These are elements that usually fit in the genre of "drama" not not horror, I believe this was intended to be more of a drama than anything, but with horror and thriller elements. Once again, I'll say I really think the film did all this well, but I can understand why other people wouldn't enjoy a depressing drama about the end of the world. So if you don't like the film or haven't seen it but probably won't like just forget about it and watch 28 Days Later or The Crazies or really anything else is genre. All of these other films are good in different ways.

Sorry to break it to you but odds are the stereotype frat house guy and his chick will be the survivors in real life. Only people that sit at home and critique survival movies think they will survive.

reply

you know, if you went into this expecting a zombie flick and blood and guts, it's not that the film was bad, it's that your expectations were all wrong. and that the subtleties of what was a decent, fairly low budget post-apocalyptic road movie went over your schlock-starved head

reply

I "rewarded" it with a "1". Pity they don't have lower rating. Definitely waste of time.

totally agree, stupid *beep* of a movie!

reply

there are no zombies you moron. think about the ending, how it sucks, and its realistic because you can apply that type of ending to a lot of peoples lives, you loose everyone, how happy can you be then? on the other hand, he gets to bang that girl but thats another story. no family left with you in a place that you had so many memories with those loved ones, at least this movie made sense. go watch those nonsense foreign "horror" movies which just seem like the director took a crap, barfed, and pissed in a bucket and called it a movie. this was not as much horror as it is drama. not as bad as those foreign movies though.

I on the other hand thought it was better than average. I really liked the slow pace of the movie. It defiantly is not a zombie flick, but it did remind me of The Battery (2012) even though it is about zombies..

7/10

I really quite enjoyed it. Found it one evening flicking through the channels with no idea about it at all. Really given t was probably low budget, low cast etc - t was really pretty good.
