Daniel and Betty Vs. Eric and America

I know the actors where against 'Detty' but it seemed that America sorta changed her mind towards the end of the series.

I remember reading that America was supposedly a bit of a diva on set and that there were some cast members who did not like her. Again I understand that not everyone is liked on the set of TV shows and I know I shouldn't believe everything I read but I was wondering if the reason that Eric and America were so against... well at least Eric was against the idea of 'Detty' was because they didn't like each other.

I never heard that America and Eric were against Betty and Daniel getting together. Even if they were, it was Silvio Horta and the writers who decided what would happen.

Eric once said something about how Daniel and Betty getting together could mean the end of the show, i.e. their hook-up would be the kind of thing that could only happen in the end. That's why he was against it apparently. But for all I know he didn't like America and didn't want to film love scenes with her It's just gossip and speculation. They had great chemistry anyway...
