Fey Sommers...

I'm not sure if I'll even get responses since the show has been off for so long...

I was re-watching season one and it is so obvious that the bandaged woman is Fey Sommers. Does anyone know why they changed it and made the bandaged woman Alexis??

I love Alexis and I love Rebecca Romijn but I was wondering why they changed the character...

i'm re-watching season one too and my thoughts were that they always planned for it to be alexis to be the mysterious woman but tried to make the audience believe it was fey sommers. and i guess they hadn't cast the actress yet and thats why when the bandaged woman shown on screen it clearly isn't rebecaa romijn

I see what youre saying. There were so many clues but youre right, it could have just been to mislead the auidence. Even when Alexis came on the scene she was the one who set her father up for the murder of Fey so I guess its all tied together. Thank-you!!

In the commentary for the pilot episode Horta says he created the character without really knowing who she would turn out to be. I think he was toying with the possibility that it might be Fey, or Alexis (he said he wanted a trans character somewhere in the show), or someone else.

But, if you watch those episodes thinking she will turn out to be Alexis, there are all sorts of things that don't make sense.

I agree such as Fey's car and Fey's casket. I think they were going towards Fey but then they decided to bring in Alexis and they made up that document to say Fey was actually dead.

But also the way Alexis talked it seemed as if she was Fey despite referring to herself in the third person but she couldn’t flat out and say I am Fey Sommers.

The thought crossed my mind that it could have been someone who had surgery to look like Fey.

I don't think they changed it, they just planned it from the start. The point is that we think it's Fey, when really it's not. I don't really understand the point of OP, you're wondering why the writers didn't go for the obvious way?
