Actually, in one of the DVD commentaries in Season 1 Michael Urie pointed that out. I think him and Vanessa Williams just decided she was bisexual.

A lot of people who are uncomfortable about their sexuality date the people their "supposed to" and hide from who they really are because they are afraid to deal with it.

If she had always felt like she was a woman in a man's body, would she have really been that into sports? I would think she would have felt more like an outsider.
