Hi everyone.
My wife recently bought the first season of Ugly Betty on DVD, and she loved it. She quickly made her way through seasons 2 and 3, but as we approach season 4, the final season, I was wondering if anyone on this board would be able to suggest any other, similar shows that she might like?

unfortunately there are no other tv shows that are like Ugly Betty. Especially no other tv shows with an adult as the main character.
That's why Ugly Betty was so special. It focused on a female character that was basically every guy's dream girl that couldn't exist in real life.
No other director/script writer would ever dare to create a character that is female who is sweet, caring, and a problem solver on TV.
Someone here suggested Drop Dead Diva. I didn't care for it, but it might work for you.
shareI watched the first two episodes of "Drop Dead Diva" under Netflix recommendation after watching Ugly Betty. The only resembleance at all is that the main character is 'supposedly' ugly like Ugly Betty. (supposedly really pretty turned into a really ugly girl due to an accident and an angel)
I didn't feel the 'magic' I felt in that show like I did with Ugly Betty.
Tried Drop Dead Diva as well, and it wasn't for me.

Yeah, Ugly Betty was such a heart warming show. It made me feel good each time I watched it and I loved all the character. No other show makes me feel like that. The closest I feel is The Middle and Modern Family. The shows always end positively and both shows have dysfunctional families that always help each other at the end and it makes me happy, LOL.
shareI tried Ugly Betty after watching Drop Dead Diva and loved them both. Still waiting on the fourth season of DDD to make it on to netflix, though. =/
