Thinking of watching Ugly Betty...

So I'm a college student without cable, just netflix and hulu plus. I've been in school about 8 months and I've watched everything: Lost, Heroes, CSI Miami, Kyle XY, FlashFoward, Switched at Birth, Parenthood, Cosby Show (these shows for the second or third time). I got into some new shows: Pretty Little Liars, Drop Dead Diva, Revenge, Touch etc. Then of course there's the shows I already watch New Girl, Scandal, SVU, so forth and so on.

I saw Ugly Betty had four seasons and figured it take me longer to get through. Also, after watching Drop Dead Diva and waiting impatiently for them to put up the fourth season I figured Ugly Betty might be a good fit. I'm also getting tired of heavy crime shows. I have to say I'm a little surprised by the 5.8 rating. When this show first aired I heard of nothing else. Is it worth watching? If not Ugly Betty, considering my tv profile, what would you suggest???

Well, of course we'll say you should watch it. But then we're mostly fans here. If you like OTT campy comedy/drama, you might like this. Keep in mind the 1st episode of any series doesn't give you a true feeling for what the show becomes. As far as the 5.8 rating, who knows. Fans and critics seem to like the 1st season the best, but all tv series change. 5.8? People who don't like campy comedy, people who didn't like how the show evolved, people who got hooked on one of Betty's many boyfriends, people thought there were too many gays in the show. Take a look at the nominations and awards. Couldn't have been THAT bad.

I had not watched UB during its original run ... but xfinity has it on the streampix on demand ... so I thought what the heck ...

I suggest watching it it took me two full days (my weekend off) to watch all the episodes and I am fully addicted to rewatching the shows. Why ABC decided to cancel such an excellent show when there is so much trash and garbage out there that has no moral fibre or is worth watching.

I do hope that someday they come out with an Ugly Betty Movie ... it would be awesome ... if nothing else it does give me an opportunity to read and write Ugly Betty Fan Fiction !!!!
