Anne Hathaway just cant help
cringe overacting. Honestly she's not that bad. but she's like that kid you know in drama class, who had bit of talent, but always dialled it up to an 11/10 and just came off as a try hard

shareI have never had that reaction to Anne’s acting, although the trailer for this movie raised some concerns for me about her suitability for this role, definitely.
Her performances in Brokeback Mountain and Interstellar alone prove she is capable of great nuance and restraint as an actress. She’s also a total sweetheart, which helps 😊
Hathaway is an insufferable woke bitch but she’s sexy and talented… but in this she really overcooks it.
In response to the Razzie and general criticism of her performance she later turned on the film and joined in the woke accusation of it being ‘ableist’ because of the missing fingers and toes of the witches.
Hathaway comes off looking terrible all round.

It did confuse me as to why they gave the witches only three fingers on each hand. It didn’t make sense. The book never said they only had three fingers on each hand, just that they had claws instead of fingernails.
shareIt was really effective and creepy, I’m glad Zemeckis went with the missing digits. Hathaway was a dumb cunt for jumping on the ‘ableist’ badwagon.
shareIt was just another change I didn’t care for, though minor compared to others. It was mostly the way the Grand High Witch’s character was written that I took issue with, I haven’t looked up Anne Hathaway’s opinions on the matter.
shareAnother reason I don’t support that change is because anyone who looks at their hands can easily tell that there’s nothing in the two middle fingers, and it looks very awkward. Witches are supposed to blend in and appear to other people as regular women. In fact, this is my biggest problem with this movie. The witches are not subtle at all, and anyone who is not an idiot can easily spot them in this movie.
shareI don’t have a problem with Anne Hathaway’s casting as much as I do the way her character was written. Totally missed the point of the book.
