This looks abysmal and feels more like a parody of the original. The tone is all wrong. Way too goofy.

Anne Hathaway as the main villain just does not fit, huge miscast... And the CGI looks horrible.

I agree. Anne Hathaway is too young looking for a Grand High Witch. The clue is in the title of the character - 'Grand'. That to me suggests age and experience. She looks like the youngest witch there.

I'm thinking someone like Cate Blanchett would have been a much better fit.

I'm with you, Cate would have absolutely knocked it out of the park! After seeing Hathaway in The Hustle, I'm thinking she has not a clue how to be a subtle villian. She is just so...hammy. As a dramatic and light comedy actress, she really excells, but not everyone can do everything. I have no desire to see this remake.

I'm not even a big fan of the first movie, but dammit at least the witches themselves were memorably scary looking. The makeup effects were incredible. At least this looks like something for Diseny+. Inoffensive and unambitious.

I saw the trailer and yes, I agree, it looks bad and way too similar to the original film. Unnecessary is the word that comes to mind. Anne, as much as I love her, doesn’t seem to pull off that accent with half the conviction of Ms Huston.

I’ll be giving this one a major pass.
