The only important question is how did they set up the traps and antidotes and such without getting killed by the mutant hybrid vampire cannibals?

They probably used quad's same as Dale did and the mutants usually attack when there is no way for they're victims to escape or there were just to many people doing it and they didn't want to take the chance.
